From the Central Michigan University New Music Ensemble:
"The Composers Project evolved from our idea of what a new music ensemble should do: perform works by living composers. This allows for interaction and dialogue between performers and composers; we are creating an opportunity for collaborative musicianship in all aspects of the music making process. Our project involves collaborating directly with composers from across the US and Canada through three days of workshops, culminating in this concert to showcase the resulting compositions. It is our hope to provide an opportunity for both composers and our ensemble to learn and grow through making new music."
